SampleTank App Reviews

IK should be renamed IAP Multimedia

IK is all about the cash. They only care about whats bringing in dough at this moment. Fine, but dont expect customer loyalty when you abandon products.

Left out

No longer usable on an iPad 2 and The Apple store says upgrade but its not compatible and I now always have one upgrade listed. Bogus

IRig craps on its customers

I had only recently purchased sample tank. Now the update fails, telling me that it is no longer compatible with my iPad 3. There are a lot of great music apps and makers out there that round out my toolbox on iPad. IRig apps will no longer be part of them. I was just considering buying a bunch more of their apps, but now I wont - stay away!

Not excited

The presets are marginally improved. However, I dont see the changes in the interface make it any more usable than the last version. It it was an AU app, I would give it five stars. It it had 8 audio outputs, I would give it four stars. Not excited by the update.

My Go To Sound Module Now after Update 2.0!!!

The quality of the sound has increased amazingly after this update. Now 8 sound multitimbral, which means you can drive up to eight layered midi tracks all at once giving you sonic power of unheard of quality right on your iPad or even the iPhone. I am using this sound module with MidiBand 3.1 and Im creating incredible backing tracks in minutes not hours. All because of the amazing sonic power IK multimedia has provided to us. For those on the fence, fear no more, this is it! I missed out on the sale by two hours, although it was still 10pm where I am at, It still didnt go through, but I will not miss out next time. For now the stock sounds are doing just fine. I really love the drums and electric and acoustic guitar sounds now, they just have so much more realism than ever before. With Midiband 3.1, im able to drive up to 16 midi tracks all at once, but with 8 that is all i really need for now. Bass, drums, pads, acoustics, electric guitars, all in there and more. I cant wait to see what else is in store for this amazing app, but for now, get it! Heck you can even try it for free! 5 stars worth IMHO!!

ipad 2 oh well

i can no longer upgrade to my ipad 2. but keeps appearing in my updates. lame

Disappointed

The upgrade seems that it has more to do sell expensive in app purchase sounds not listed here.

App does not work with 32 Bit system

After using this for quite awhile, I did the update, deleted the old App, now I cant use it do to the fact that my iPad 3 isn’t 64 Bit. Options are buy a newer version iPad or quit using these products.

Well it is a Great App! You may have to also...

Purchase an iRig product in order to get a serial number that will unlock a few other sounds, but you get a good value for the price once you understand how to work it. The in app purchase sounds are all in the "live" setting but not in the "song" setting. Once I realized this. I was very pleased to know that I didnt purchase in vain. Turn your iPhone/iPad into a workstation! Its pretty cool!...review update Aug 30, 2016 Extremely buggy and I have the latest iPhone 6s Plus! Its supposed to be updated and it says I can open but the app wont open and its faded as if its still updating. Id rather not have paid for the app, then to barely get any use of it. Update 9-2-2016 My love affair with this app has returned. Apparently the issue was an easy fix once I found a way to delete the app (through the systems menu) and reinstall it.

Dont buy its a SCAM

Bought the app then the new update says it will not run on phones above iphone s. I guess there is forward compatibility issues as well as backwards. Go figure. Fascist greed.

Apple you done it again

I pay for this app sample tank and now I dont work because of your updates I think just does the scheme job to get you to buy another iPad

What the hell did you guys do?

I paid another $39.99 because you suddenly changed everything and wouldnt give me back my original purchases...And I am still not getting *Cello *Violins *Full Orchestra *The sound quality is lower event at full volume * Most keys are blacked out on some instruments *And your keyboard does not change from maxi to mini What the ever Lovin "F" did you do to this thing...It was PERFECT!!! Who screwed it up? Your snotty little brother who just graduated from Devry and thinks he knows it all? Refund refund refund or change it back! Right now, youre at ripoff level...!!! Am I expected to buy an IPad 2 on top of my 39.99. rip off ..change it back! Or revise the app so that we who do not have a newer iPad can still use it... It was great before.

Best I can find, but... its not Mainstage [Updated]

My 2.0 Review Update: ----------------------- This version is a huge improvement and a big step towards "MainStage for iPad." My favorite SampleTank 2.0 improvements: 1. Key-range limits per part. 2. Ability to name multi presets. 3. Eight parts, up from 4, in the multi setups. 4. Better use of iPad Pro resolution. I still dont see InterApp audio hosting (i.e., the ability to call out to Auria apps for sound generation for some parts.) However, the sound selection here is good enough that that is not a fatal flaw. I am a little disappointed that I just bought all of the 1.x sound packs and now 2.0 uses the new Pro pack at $39.99. However, the sounds I bought are still there. I just wish Id known this was coming. Ive tried using Cubasis or Auria as iPad-based synth workstations and they just dont work. While they can use InterApp audio, they dont respond to MIDI program change for selection of presets, which I trigger using Set List Maker. Auria doesnt keep tracks armed on load, making it unsuitable for live use. If you want something approaching MainStage for the iPad, SampleTank appears to be the best option by a good measure at this point. My 1.x Review: --------------- I want Mainstage for iPad. It doesnt exist. Cubasis will let you set up multi-controller rigs, but "patch changes" are too cumbersome. SampleTank provides feasible live patch changes, but is a closed universe if you are using it as the top-level app. I think SampleTank really needs: 1. Support for hosting of InterApp audio apps (i.e., let SampleTank Part B of a preset be the Moog Model 15 app). 2. Key ranges per part to allow single-MIDI-channel-controllers to have splits. 3. Support for iPad Pro resolution. 4. Removal of the maddening default assignment of loops to lower keyboard keys. 5. Graphical refresh.

No longer compatible with iPad 4?

A nice collection of samples with customization.

Congratulations apple and sample tank

I hate your update which is really unfair sice we paid for sample tank and now its incomparable with my iPhone 5 and I pad2. And paid twice already .thank you.

not for professionals

Does the idea of a pop-up ad sound good while you are on stage? If so by all means buy this offensive app.

Ads in Paid Version...Get Real

Bought an iRig 2 from you guys. Bought your amp and vocal packages too. Just dropped 60 dollars buying SampleTank and all the sound packs. Imagine my surprise when you have the balls to put huge pop up ads in my workspace trying to get me to buy more. Have some respect for paying customers. This isnt a free program. 60 bucks and you hit us with ads to buy more? Thats disrespectful to those of us who choose to buy from you rather than use the free version. My three stars would have been five, but no, not with ads.

Do NOT even try with iPad3/Retina

As the others say, this newer version will not work, nor will it upgrade from the older version - so it will be stuck forever in your updates waiting to be upgraded... The earlier version worked fine, and there are plenty of other apps loaded here that work without issue. I will probably start deleting these programs that get stuck in the update cycle...EDIT: Had to uninstall due to stuck update cycle...shame.

Live view

Hope have a seperate volume control when using a live view mode when u creating a layer in same channel.thank you.

What gives!?!

Love this app but the updates keep erasing my work...
